Those of us that are a certain age got some great news last week that was a throwback to the 1970’s, and frankly news we never thought we would hear again. The Worrell 1000 Sailboat race is on again after an absence for nearly 2 decades!
It is a cool and seasonable Monday here in Sandbridge, and we are all recovering from a weekend of anticipation and activity. Something In The Water festival was held this past weekend in Virginia Beach, and we are pleased to report the event came off great.
Good morning from a beautiful day at the beach. The sun is up as are the temperatures, and it is simply a beautiful day in Sandbridge. For our memory Monday photo submission we are sharing a happily ever after memory of one of our guests.
This Monday morning in Sandbridge is brisk and cool as a large weather front moved through last night and brought us about an inch of rain overnight and very heavy winds. Not great weather for going to the beach, nor for having a wedding.
What a game last night huh? Not exactly the offensive show everyone was predicting prior to the game, but we have to be honest and say that the game was secondary to our enjoyment of the evening. We enjoyed the food and the commercials more than the game – just like we do every year.
Greetings from a chilly, but beautiful Sandbridge Beach on this Monday morning. Crisp is the best work we can think of this morning when thinking of how to describe the day. The frost on the ground this morning looked like a fine layer of snow fell overnight. It was really beautiful. It was tough to get up this morning and walk the dog however.
Greetings from a glorious Sandbridge Beach. I was just out on the beach earlier this morning with my dog enjoying a beautiful Christmas Eve sunrise.
It was truly an amazing sight as the sun was rising over an otherwise very calm Atlantic ocean, I looked to the west and saw the remnants of a full moon setting in the northwestern sky. Did you know that the full moon we had on the first day of winter was such a rare situation that none of us may live to see it again.
That is what we offer you today on Memory Monday. A simple photo that conveys all that is good with a beach vacation. Who would not enjoy sitting on your oceanfront deck, prop your feet up on the railing, and enjoy a warm beverage as you gaze out at the ocean? In fact, how about we do that today?!
We hope you are having a relaxing day wherever you may be. This is a busy and stressful week for a lot of people as it is effectively the last week of the business year as many companies are closed multiple days over the next two weeks. Lots of family travel is in store for folks as well.
If you still have holiday shopping to do this week, or if you have some deadlines to meet at work we pass this photo on to you as our gift from Sandbridge Blue to remind you that relaxing times can be yours.
Now is the time to start thinking about a vacation for summer 2019 and we still have good availability on our properties for next year. January starts our busy season in terms of bookings so why not take a look around our inventory today and get a head start on your own relaxing vacation? Our booking calendars are all open for next year right now, and we can set you and your family up today with your own relaxing vacation.
We are ready when you are with our reservations staff available 24 hours to help with any questions you may have.
In the meantime we wish you all the best from the beach!
Winds are blowing steadily at 25-30 miles per hour along the oceanfront this morning, and we had gusts yesterday upwards of 40 miles per hour. Add to that a good amount of rain, some sleet, and a few minutes of snow and that made for a very ugly day along the beach. We even had some of the flags in front of our office tattered by the strong weather. Very surprising for us.
We look for better weather ahead, but this morning we look back on Memory Monday to a great photo that reminds us that not all of our vacation rentals are occupied by families getting together. While we don’t normally rent to non-family groups….one could consider these ladies an extended family once you hear their story.
This photo is of a group of ladies that came and stayed with Blue in September. Ann L tells the story of this remarkable photo.
She says “we live in a small rural town on the Rhappahannock river. On our street great neighbors join together in times of need and times of fun. 9 ladies pictured here make an annual trip to the beach…and this is the official trip picture.” What a great looking group of friends!
We think that is inspiring, and great. Thank you Ann for sharing your photo of you and your friends with us. It seems to us that times like this are rare occasions these days and it is encouraging to see the enjoyment of just being together and sharing in a photo.
We look forward to serving you and your group again soon.
All the best from the beach!
Each Monday we work to share a photo memory with you which comes from one of our guests that stayed with us, and today we share with you yet another photo of some four legged friends that enjoyed a stay recently with Sandbridge Blue. This photo comes to us from Jessica Niehaus of Columbus, Ohio who stayed with us just a couple of weeks ago with her two furry family members
We promise that we don’t have dogs all over the beach, but it is amazing about how many dog pictures we get sent to us for our Memory Monday photo contest. It just goes to show that dogs really enjoy a beach vacation as well as their humans do!
We have properties that accept pets, as well as houses that don’t, and we have some great options available if you want to take advantage of the remarkable weather that we’ve been having lately. All of our properties have great wi-fi so you can keep up with your e-mail while you enjoy our little slice of heaven so why not consider a little beach time before the real fall weather arrives?
We would love to help you arrange a getaway. When you come don’t forget to snap some pictures and send them to us so we can post them here on Memory Monday and show everyone else what a great time you had. Deal?
All the best from the beach!
