Your Guide to the Super Girl Surf Festival in Virginia Beach

The beach is the place to be this Labor Day weekend as the Super Girl Surf Festival returns to Virginia Beach! From September 5–7, 2026, the area surrounding the 1st Street Jetty will come alive with professional surfing, live music, beach sports, boardwalk vendors and activities celebrating women in sports and entertainment.

Recognized as the world’s largest women’s sports, music and lifestyle festival, this free event is an exciting addition to any September getaway in Sandbridge.

At the center of the weekend is the World Surf League QS 4,000 competition, featuring talented professional surfers competing for valuable points toward the Challenger Series and, ultimately, the Championship Tour.

Spectators can watch the competition unfold throughout the weekend, beginning with the opening rounds on Saturday and continuing through the finals and awards ceremony on Monday. A longboard competition will also bring professional and amateur surfers to the water for smooth rides and impressive performances.

Whether you follow professional surfing or simply enjoy watching talented athletes take on the waves, the competition at the iconic 1st Street Jetty is sure to be a highlight.

The entertainment continues after the surfers leave the water. The 2026 festival features 22 free concerts, with a diverse lineup that includes Switchfoot, CeeLo Green, Lupe Fiasco, Gym Class Heroes, B.o.B, Collie Buddz, Bryce Vine and many more.

Concerts are scheduled throughout all three days, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy live music beside the ocean. Admission is free, but advance registration is required for the concerts. Be sure to pre-register through the official Super Girl Surf Festival website before attending.

Between competitions and concerts, take a stroll through the Festival Village and browse the vendors lining the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. Visitors can shop, enjoy food and drinks, enter giveaways, attend autograph signings and explore interactive exhibits while DJs keep the energy going throughout the day.

Festivalgoers can also stop by the workout class station on the boardwalk to get moving. The #Goals Stage offers free fitness, yoga and self-defense classes, along with speakers focused on confidence, wellness and empowerment. It is a fun way to try something new while enjoying the lively atmosphere along the Oceanfront.

Surfing may be the main event, but it is far from the only sport featured during the weekend. Visitors can watch women compete in beach volleyball, soccer, flag football, skateboarding, skimboarding and lifesaving events.

The festival also brings rollerblading and inline skating competitions to the beach, adding even more action to the weekend. An open roller rink gives festivalgoers another opportunity to join the fun, while the Super Girl 5K Beach Run/Walk offers a chance to experience the shoreline on foot.

With athletic competitions, live entertainment and activities taking place throughout the festival grounds, there is always something new to see.
