See it from the water

There is something special about seeing Sandbridge from the water. There are many watersports and tours to choose from such as Kayak tours, Paddleboarding, Dolphin tours, and the Wildlife Tram tour.

Kayak Tours

With over 120 navigable miles of waterways, Virginia Beach is the perfect place to go kayaking. You can choose from ocean kayaking or kayaking through Back Bay National Wildlife and First Landing. On average the kayak tours last for about two and a half hours.

Paddleboarding

Paddleboarding is a great way to spend a couple of hours exploring the wildlife along the water, whether through the Back Bay or the ocean. Sandbridge Beach has gentle waves and a sandy bottom, making it the ideal place for paddleboarding. You also have access to all the canals and Back Bay National Wildlife when staying in Sandbridge. Since paddleboards move slowly and do not make a lot of noise you won’t startle the dolphins, birds and other wildlife life and may be able to see a few.

Go Offshore Fishing

Offshore fishing is an exciting way to spend a day on the open ocean. Most trips last from 12 to 17 hours and you need to make a reservation in advance. You are likely to see dolphins and soaring seabirds throughout your trips. You will head out around 75 miles offshore. Captains know where to find schools of wahoo, yellowfin tuna, and mahi-mahi and hopefully you will be reeling in a 200-pound tuna! Most charter operators will clean your catch for you, so all you have to do is fire up the grill when you get back to your vacation rental.
